While I was on the train the other day I thought about jotting down some blog ideas, and wondered if there were any decent blog programs that would interact with WordPress ..
After a bit of surfing around, to my surprise I found that a lot of positive things were being said about Windows Live Writer and how it worked with various blog systems including WordPress.
I was somewhat sceptical – but after downloading the Live package and unchecking all the other Live parts I didn’t want, I was able to quickly connect to my various WordPress sites with a simple wizard and I was ready to go.
It makes formatting really easy because things like hyperlinks are less cumbersome than all the pop-ups on the WordPress website and it even syncs a copy of your themes etc so you can see the post preview offline.
All in all a surprising pleasure to work with so if you are looking for an offline editor for WordPress, Blogger etc I would heartily recommend Live Writer … you can read more or download here:
